So a while ago, I wrote an article on how to install Dome9 on a Raspberry Pi. Since then, my website has had a little bit of a refresh, and the article went missing!
Well panic no longer, as it's back! So read on, for how to install Dome9 on your Raspberry Pi
What is Dome9 anyway?
Dome9 is a cloud security service that automates
managing server firewalls on your hardware. No more fiddling with ufw or iptables! Perfect.
So let's get installing
Step 1: Getting up to date
In a terminal, run:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade
Step 2: Next, we need to install the pre-requisites
sudo apt-get -y install python iptables openssl
Step 3: Now we have all the pre-requisites installed, now time to get the Dome9 agent!
Step 4: Next, extract the download
tar zxvf Dome9Agent-latest.tar.gz cd Dome9Agent*
Step 5: Now to install!
sudo python setup.py install
Step 6: Next, we need to copy the crontab and init.d files to the correct location
sudo cp contrib/dome9d_cron /etc/cron.d/ sudo cp contrib/dome9d_init /etc/init.d/dome9
Step 7: Nearly there, now all we need to do is pair it with our Dome9 account!
sudo dome9d pair -k <pairing key>
And you're done, enjoy using Dome9 on your Raspberry Pi!
